I interviewed my mom about her views on the 2000's.
Me:" Where were you and what were you doing on 9/11?"
Mom: "I was home with my son, Anthony, who was 6 months old, and we were getting ready to go to a doctors appointment."
Me: " What are your views on the war in Iraq?"
Mom: "Iraq came after 9/11, and Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, so I am a little perplexed as to how we got involved in that whole entire situation. I liked that Bush went after the Taliban and Al-Qaeda and vowed to find out who was responsible for 9/11 and he went after them, and helped to destroy Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. But then Bush went off on different tangents, declaring war on Iraq, Iran, North Korea, and they had nothing to do with 9/11 so that concerned me a little. He went even further by claiming that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, saying that if we didn't destroy them, they would destroy us with a nuclear attack. And unfortunately as we know now, those weapons of mass destruction were never found."
Me: "What are your views on Obama's Healthcare Reform Act?"
Mom: "I think it was a good idea, to help the uninsured to be able to afford and get quality healthcare, but there's a lot of problems with how its being handled, and how its being done. In order to achieve that, taxes have been raised on middle and upper class, also there's a lot of glitches with the system inside the medical field itself. There's been a lot of drawbacks that i think still need to be ironed out in order to have it stay successful and to actually have it be what Obama wanted it to be."
Me: "Who do you like better overall, Bush or Obama? Why?
Mom: "That's a very difficult question, because there's good qualities to both of them. I'm not crazy about either one of them because of the drawbacks that I see both of them having, I think that they're both good men, I think that they both had good ideas, and hopes to achieve a lot during their presidencies, but I don't know that either one of them actually came through on what they really wanted to achieve. I think Bush is a stronger political leader, especially with foreign policy, and I feel like Obama is not showing strong leadership for the United States to other countries, and I'm afraid that we are appearing to be very indecisive, confused, and weak, which is not a good way o appear to foreign countries."
Me: "What is your favorite TV show that aired in the 2000's?"
Mom: "House."
Me: "What is your favorite movie from the 2000's?"
Mom: "The Notebook and Letters to Juliet"
Me: "Do you have a favorite song from the 2000's?"
Mom: "Yes. Grenade, by Bruno Mars."
